Home 2 - Habitat For Humanity
910 West 6th Street
This year the home tour has a special home on the tour. We are featuring a partially
completed home that is a project of the local Habitat for Humanity. The three bedroom home is approximately 1100 square feet. At print time, the home is expected to be bare stud walls. Each room will be decorated with a different theme related to the Habitat cause. This is one of many homes that Habitat for Humanity Claremore has built in partnership with well-
deserving families in the community. Stop by to visit with members of the Rogers Co.
Habitat for Humanity Board to learn more about their efforts to lend a hand up to others.
Home 3 - Mary Jo Masterson
1609 NE Oakridge Drive
Mary Jo Masterson welcomes you to her two story home located in the OakRidge
Subdivision. As you walk to the entrance of the home you notice a beautiful front porch that extends the full length of the front of the home. On the porch is a swing and wooden chair made by Mary’s father. As you enter the front door you find yourself standing in front of a
gorgeous full length solid oak staircase that leads you to the second floor. Located upstairs are both guest rooms, one featuring a brass bed that belonged to her grandmother, an office, a craft room and a secret staircase that takes you back down to the first floor.
The main level of the home features the living room with a stunning fireplace and built in bookcases and several items crafted by her father including a drop-leaf table, a chessboard and an entry table. You will also find the master bedroom, dining room, kitchen and an exquisite music room with a beautiful piano and Mary Jo’s prized portrait of her ballerina daughter.
Outside you will find a beautiful in the ground pool and porch where outside gatherings are held. Mary Jo celebrates the holiday season by decorating her beautiful home with color themed Christmas trees located in many of the rooms. This house is warm and inviting and will get you in the spirit for the holiday season.
Home 4 - Brad & Denise Smallwood
13155 E 500 Road
Brad and Denise welcome you to their home during this joyous Christmas season. As you walk thru, you will notice the beautiful crown molding and vaulted ceiling in the living room. The Smallwood’s choice of earth tone colors and décor in the living room and kitchen would provide any family with a feeling of warmth. Once you enter into the warm and cozy master suite you will notice the custom fireplace between bed and bath. Upstairs is a sports themed game room filled with a collection of autographed memorabilia. There are two bedrooms connected by a Jack and Jill bath. Both are decorated for the Smallwood’s granddaughters and are any little girl’s dream room. One has a mural of Rapunzel, which was painted by Denise herself. For the enjoyment of Christmas, Denise has placed a holiday tree in most all rooms, this filling the home with memories of Christmas past. Making your way back downstairs, you will exit thru the beautiful kitchen with granite counter tops, to the prettiest of all back patios. Here you will enjoy the pool and hot tub while following the path to the
outdoor kitchen. You can kick back and listen to the sounds of the crackling wood in the
fireplace or enjoy watching the game on the outdoor television. During cooler days you can convert this outdoor kitchen to a man cave by letting down the canvas panels. The
manicured backyard is welcoming with professional landscaping. This home sits on 10
beautiful acres and during the season becomes a winter wonderland. Definitely a home you will want to experience.
Home 5 - Ryan & Amy Neely
8094 Forrest Glenn Road
Ryan and Amy Neely invite you to their charming place, recently transformed from
bachelor pad to comfortable home for two (and two dogs) with room to grow. The rich tones of the open living and dining area are accented by the clean lines of white crown molding and hardwood floors. The warm colors attract you into the core of the home where you find the beautiful dark stained wood and black granite finishes of the fireplace weighting well in the designer kitchen, between the cabinets, countertops, stainless appliances and tumbled marble backsplash. The chalkboard pantry allows for easy upkeep of grocery list and to-dos. The quaint breakfast bar, allows free flow of conversation from the kitchen to the dining room where the bay window adjoins the outdoor living area, with built-in sink and stainless grill, accented by the same dark cabinets and black granite countertops.
The outdoor living area is perfect for eating, entertaining or relaxing. The brick natural gas fire-pit area extends beyond the covered porch and is bordered by neatly kept and colorful landscaping. The flat screen television, mounted above the bar area, can be viewed from any area, including the spa tub that extends beyond the covered porch.
All three bedrooms are on the main level of this split floor plan home. The front guest
bedroom is currently being used as a home exercise facility where the closet has been
transformed into an office and craft space. The shabby chic guest bedroom offers the feel of an airy bed and breakfast. This theme flows through to the shared guest bath, delightfully adorned with robin’s egg blue walls and vintage accents. The master bedroom showcases a tray ceiling with muted colors for a calming effect. The master includes a glamour style bath with cultured marble shower, garden tub and double vanity.
A final surprise is found by following the custom decorative stairway to the second floor where a large bonus room houses OSU sports memorabilia, including an OSU pool table and arena seats, multiple game stations and televisions as well as golf and hunting tokens.
This home is not only well-designed, but practical and is a must see for the holiday season.
Home 6 - Charles & Julie Bowers
7045 E Courtney Lane
Charles and Julie welcome you to their beautiful home nestled on a wooded lot in the neighborhood appropriately coined “The Woods.” The Bowers’ custom designed home was built in 2006. As you approach the front door, you are welcomed by the tranquil sound of a
waterfall flowing into a picturesque koi pond. Upon entering the home, you are immediately drawn to the curved staircase leading to the family’s game room, which features a pool table and various memorabilia. The balcony, overlooking the entry area, adds a nice touch to the room.
The main level of the home includes an eat-in kitchen, formal dining room, living area, the family’s bedrooms, and an office. The centrally located kitchen and breakfast area feature an Americana theme. The master suite includes a unique closet wrapped behind the whirlpool tub. The Bowers’ sons’ rooms each display their favorite hobbies. Dillon’s room features his hunting trophy and a collection of fishing lures. Connected by a Jack and Jill bathroom with wilderness decor, Tyler’s room includes a sports theme.
Julie enjoys decorating for her favorite holiday season, and you will find her collection of nativity scenes throughout the home. A variety of Christmas trees invite you to share in the joy of the season. These special touches along with the rich wood trim, hardwood floors, and warm colors create a cozy feel.
